Visual Radio
August 8th, 2006 by gaurav | Filed under , .If you have been listening to FM lately in Delhi you must have heard about their ads regarding Visual Radio. I just wondered and checked what its all about and found that Visual Radio is a Nokia proprietary streaming technology for Symbian smartphones. It is not audio streaming: some phones that are already equiped with analog FM radio (notably the Nokia 3230) come with the Visual Radio client that is used to stream SMIL-based data to the phone while the user listens to analog FM radio. (Visual Radio definition From Wikipedia)
Then later I checked this website
Visual Radio enables to see and do more when listening to radio on your mobile phone. It shows you what is playing right now, on your phone’s screen, so you never have to have that feeling again when you keep hearing a song you like and you can’t find out who it is. It helps in finding details about new singers, songs, etc. It makes radio news and sports broadcasts enriched with graphics and interesting background information.
It lets you interact with radio station you are listening to, express your opinion, take part in audience polls, votes and competitions with few clicks on your mobile.
