Reviewme.com - Make money by blogging

Reviewme.com launched last month, has been very well received by bloggers as it will especially give big bloggers a chance to add their kitty. Its getting a lot of attention from blogsphere, as they are offereing $20 for reviewing their website and the total amount to be reimbursed was $25,000. After seeing the initial outburst of reviews for their own website they have taken that total amount to $1,00,000.

What reviewme.com is attempting to do is to get the bloggers write about company’s who register with them as advertisers and pay bloggers(registered with them) for writing about those companies/products. They are rating the bloggers based upon the Alexa rating, Technorati links, RSS feed users and then getting to their own rating. Once they have calculated their own rating, they attach a price to that blog which is going to be shared on 50:50 basis by blogger and reviewme.com.

Registering with them as a blogger is quite easy and one immediately comes to know whether you have been accepted or not. Once registered, blogger would have to wait for some advertiser to come and pick them for writing about their product/company, then only you get paid.

Seeing the response that they have got I am afraid that it is going to get tough for lot of bloggers to get anything out of this service. It seems good that one is given a price tag of say $50, S100, etc. to write a review about a company but actually getting that offer will be a mean task.

The other thing that worries me about is that the advertisers may not want bloggers to write bad about their products/services and hence may hesitate to ask for reviews. Also if it is a software or a website then it is possible to review it from anywhere in the world, but other types of products will require that advertisers give a copy of the product to the bloggers which they can use and then review.

Just go ahead and register if you are a blogger as there is no harm in trying.
