September 24th, 2006 by gaurav | Filed under , .Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group-controlled Adlabs’ radio venture, Big 92.7 FM has been launched today on September 24, 2006. Big 92.7 FM plans to reach 45 cities, 1,000 towns and 50,000 villages. 
Big 92.7 FM will be introducing lot of interactive features with the specific aim of building a community of cell phone users hooked in to the radio station.
There is an advertisement in HT today showing Abhishek Bachchan which titles, “Aa Gaya Hai Big 92.7 Fm Sirf Hum Jaison ke liye”. Everything is Big about it, as is the case with most of the things associated with Reliance group. They have also mentioned that RJs on the station will be big names too, making it celebrity station kind of place.

Well Gaurav,
I have been on the search for a direct web site of 92.7 Big FM ever since its launch plans were announced. Since I failed to find any, despite extensive search, I thought of writing to you expecting a helpful response.
Let me introduce myself as Ramesh (Remeshan Kayanadath), a Keralite who has been out of Kerala for the last 26 years persuing career at varied levels.
My last ten years have been with a UAE (Dubai) based Malayalam AM/FM commerial radio station catering to the Gulf in general on AM and UAE in particular on FM, entertaining over an estimated Malayalee expat population of 3.5 million.
My portfolio with the radio is in the role of an all rounder who alongwith the General Manager is involved in each and every aspect of this station, the prime aspect of a commercial radio station being traffic control ie to ensure that all commercial commitments with the advertisers are met without any failure or complaint on a day to day basis, coordinate with production studios and sales and clints, coordinate between sales team and clients, event management, HR and Admin, all put together, form the nucleus of the stations day to day operation.
The reason to bother you.
Gaurav, Big FM has plans to start up the Malayalam version of their FM, to be based at Trivandrum, by March 2007. Now since I have spent a very considerable time outside Kerala, I see this as a very good opportunity to be part of this all new station where I am sure my 10 years of commercial radio experience will be really useful for the new entrant in many ways and in turn I get a decent living in my own land.
