Appu Ghar, the kids amusement park located opposite to Supreme Court in New Delhi, India may have to go as Urban Development Ministry has allotted about 12 acres of India Trade Promotion Organisation land in the Pragati Maidan area to the Supreme Court.
The only theme park which is centrally located in Delhi includes haunted houses, dragn ride, striking cars , roller coaster rides, Go-Karting, Oysters, a huge water park with lots of huge slides, rivers, lakes, etc.
Appu, was both the cartoon mascot, and a live elephant mascot that became the beloved star of the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi, India. This amusement park got the name from that Mascot’s name. “Appu” - The Name of the Elephant and “Ghar” means House.

According to the plan, Supreme Court will have a a new wing, complete with offices, lawyers chambers, auditorium and a library in the the allotted space.
Justifying the need for land, SCBA officials have said, “the amusement park could shift elsewhere, but not the Court.”
I would ask such officials, do they have a plan, once they occupy this space and in few years time they will require more space then what would be their move? Would they be then destroying any other such place nearby / or taking over another part of Pragati Maidan or move to a new place? This place remains the best hunting ground for young kids to celebrate their birthdays or to enjoy on the last day of the final exams. But from now on kids might have to look for farther places to have fun.
