India had managed to reach finals in the previous two occasions of ICC Champion Tropy. Last time under the captaincy of Ganguly, India were declared joint winners along with Sri Lanka after match could not be completed in two days.

Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain was once again left out by the national selectors who earlier picked him in 30-member squad declared sometime back. Ganguly along with Sreesanth & Kumble will not figure in Champions Trophy team to be played from October 7 to November 5.

The biennial event is to be played at four centres at Mumbai, Mohali, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. India will face England at Jaipur on October 15.

Board of Control for Cricket in India much-hyped website still has not been lauched but has started providing a form to be downloaded for the booking of tickets of ICC Championsip Tropy to be held later this year.

Few days back there was a news being scrolled on news channel that bcci.tv has been launched but seeing what is available it seems the website will take some time before it becomes fully functional.

Last read about the website in an article which stated that :

IT majors Microsoft and Wipro will compete for the right to host the Indian cricket board’s website.

“The two competing parties in the fray are The Cricket Network (TCN) in partnership with Sun and Wipro, and Microsoft along with TCS,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.

BCCI.tv domain was probably booked as there was a news that BCCI might start a TV channel of their own to broadcast matches, highlights, cricket news etc. It would be better if BCCI could concentrate on their core activities and stop thinking about having their own channel.
