India’s first premium Sports back Chevy SRV

Yesterday while coming back from office I saw one very trendy car, somehow just managed to get a quick look and recognize the Chevrolet’s logo. Searched the net to find about the model and was quite surprised to find out that the car was Chevrolet’s SRV which has been launched in July and I did not know about it as I have not seen/heard about it earlier. There seems to no advertising at all, neither in newspapers or TV/FM or may be I missed it. Chevrolet's SRV Whatever the case maybe it looks absolutely amazing and gives a very sporty look. The spoiler at the back makes it even more trendy.

Touted as India’s first premium Sports back, the five-door SRV is said to combine modern Italian design, a number of standard features and roomy interior. Primarily targeted at young professionals, who are getting more and more attracted to design-oriented products. The SRV is a global product sold across Europe, North America, Canada and Asian markets that has been re-engineered for India based on extensive testing across the country to meet the specific needs of our customers as well as local driving conditions.

The vehicle is priced at Rs.6.97 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and 7.51 lakhs with some added features which makes it qute an expensive considering the size of the car.

Indian Lungi man

I found this video on Sakshi’s blog and it is so hilarious that I could not stop laughing even after the video had finished. Make sure you have speakers on when you play this.

Seeing this I recollect one of my uncles who used to dance in a very similar way during weddings in front of ghodi. This one is different as the man is wearing a lungi that makes it more interesting while my uncle usually was in suits.
Enjoy…

Online Digital Prints service in India

September 26th, 2006 by gaurav | 3 Comments | Filed in

For last few days I have been looking for a service online from where I can get prints of photographs taken from my digital camera. I found two services MeraSnap.com and PhotoBaaz.com. Both services require mandatory registration that gives an access to an online account wherein a user can upload his/her photographs and then order for prints from there.

Online Digital Prints service comparision in India MeraSnap just offers printing of 4×6 size photographs at the moment but have a much better pricing than PhotoBaaz. Below is the comparision that I have been able figure out without going through the registration process.

  MeraSnap.com PhotoBaaz.com
Pricing 4×6 Rs. 4.40 per print Rs.8.00 per print
Spl. Offer Free album for 30 or more prints First 10 prints free + Free Shipping for first time
Shipping Charges Rs.25 for South India
Rs.35 for Rest of India
Not Mentioned
Developing Roll Service NA Available
Other Servicest Not Available Getting prints on Greeting Cards, Photo calendars, Mugs and mousepads
Online Payment Yes Yes
Unlimited Images Images will deleted after 30 days Yes
Photosharing with friends & Family No Yes

Finally after making the comparision my choice would MeraSnap.com for getting 4×6 prints as they offer no non-sense straight away service without having to offer too many frills which does not make sense to me when I am looking for a cheap and best service that can help me get good digital prints while ordering with a click of my mouse.

Though PhotoBaaz.com offers some good add-ons like unlimited storage and options of getting prints on mugs, mousepads, greeting cards which can also be useful when looking to send gifts to someone.

The choice is wide open depending upon what service one requires. Do let me know if you know of any other good service offering digital prints.

New Beast on the road

International Cars & Motors Limited (ICML), is a group company of Sonalika Group who are better known for manufacturing tractors has manufactured MUV with the name of RHINO & is currently using Japanese Isuzu engine. Rhino - The latest MUV on Indian RoadsThe MUV seems pretty attractive by the looks of it and is powered by Isuzu engine which makes it an interesting option since Toyota has stopped manufacturing their successful Qualis to pave for their next generation model that is Innova which has failed to some extent if compared with the success Qualis had. Tata’s Victa is not at all comfortable. The other options that are doing quite well in the same segment are Mahindra’s Scorpio and Chevrolet’s Tavera.

The two-litre multi-utility vehicle ‘Rhino’ has an entry-price of Rs 5.45 lakh. The other two models of the vehicle are priced at Rs 5.95 lakh and Rs 6.85 lakh respectively. It seems a good deal but there has not been any advertising and ICML seems lacking in strong dealership network.
