August 31st, 2006 by gaurav | 3 Comments | Filed in

I am making 5 blog recommendations on this BlogDay. I have tried to take the best out of the blogs that I regularly read. As I like to read about varied subjects I have intentionally chosen 5 blogs which belong to different categories. I hope the readers of my blog will like them too.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Scott H Young maintains a personal development blog where in he posts about how an individual can bring positive changes in his/her own life. He constantly tries to find out new ways to improve and get more out of life. His articles put across his way of thinking which comes out to be very mature considering his age. He has just graduated but I really find his blog one of the best in the category.

LIFE @ ISB
Bharanidharan Viswanathan blogged generally about his life at ISB, Hyderabad from where he has completed Post Graduate Program in Management. As he has moved blog to a new domain and a new job, it would be interesting to find how he applies the knowledge gained at ISB to his workplace.

TECH BLOG
LiewCF.com is a personal tech blog by Liew Cheon Fong on latest technology, gadgets, softwares, computing tips and tricks, product reviews and some interesting stuff. He covers quite a number of categories such as Technology, Security,Gadgets, Tips & Tricks, Open Source, Video Clips, Make Money Online, Adsense Tips, SEO Beginner, etc. in his posts.

HUMOUROUS BLOG
If you are looking for some funny stuff, this blog by Jamshed Velayuda Rajan is an absolute delight. I will not go into more details, it needs a definite visit.

Infosys Blogs at Think Flat

August 30th, 2006 by gaurav | 1 Comment | Filed in ,

Infosys Blogs at Think FlatInfosys, India’s leading IT software service company has recently started blog of their own at http://www.infosysblogs.com/. Considering the attention that BLOG, (the word) draws, it was quite a slow start in the Indian corporate scene. I am just hoping that Indian corporate will now get awaken by this action of Infosys and use the real power of the medium. Nandan Nilekani, CEO of Infosys first blogged on the site on 31st July, 2006.

The first thing that strikes when you visit the Blog, is its title - Think Flat which seems an advertisement of some flat screen television. But it has a very deep meaning inside which is that playing field has levelled for everyone in the internet era and it does not matter whether you are a Indian, Chinese, American, Japanese company or group of individuals, everyone faces the same stiff challenges and have access to the same markets worldwide.

There are one more question in my mind which still needs an answer. Why would Infosys chose a seperate domain - www.InfosysyBlogs.com, they could have started with Blog.Infosys.Com. If yoy have an idea, please put it down in comments below.

Best of Luck - Infosys with blogging.

August 29th, 2006 by gaurav | No Comments | Filed in ,

BlogCamp is an unconference where bloggers with similar interests are going to meet, share info and learn in Chennai’s Tidel Park on9th and 10th Sept. 2006. The best thing about the BlogCamp is that it is a completely informal event and has no audience. Every person attending it is required to be a participant.

BlogCamp is about keynotes, talks, forums, hallway discussions, demos, party, contests. 50% conference, 50% unconference. 50% broadcast, 50% interactivity. 100% informal. I guess it going to be 100% pure fun & learn meet with fellow bloggers from all over India and that’s why I am gonna be there. I have got my tickets & accommodation done and have added my name to Attendees list as well.

If you ever wanted to have a device which does not require you keep replacing its batteries, then this YoYo MP3 player could just be thing you had wished for. Enjoy hours of endless entertainment yo-yoing and listening to music everywhere you go - and never run out of batteries again.

Yo-Yo Mp3 Player

With 10-12 tosses per hour are sufficient for continuous music play. A wireless headset allows the user to listen to music while yo-yoing. Storage capacity of up to 200 MP3 songs on flash ROM makes it a very cool device which I would definitely like to own one day.

Listen to Radio City Online

August 27th, 2006 by gaurav | 16 Comments | Filed in , ,

One of the readers of blog, Abhi left a comment on one of my earlier posts regarding - Another FM radio Channel in Delhi one can listen to Radio City 91.0 FM (Delhi) online and is available here . I tried opening the link and it took me to the page (part of screenshot below)where I clicked the Listen link and it opened Real Player on my system and within few seconds I got tuned to Radio City. I just needed to mention the speed of the connection which I did and I got the live Radio City online broadcasted from internet.

Listen to Radio City Online

I checked on the homepage of ShoutCast from where this FM channel was broadcasted and found the following details:

SHOUTcast is Nullsoft’s Free Winamp-based distributed streaming audio system. Thousands of broadcasters around the world are waiting for you to tune in and listen. Take a peek through the SHOUTcast directory (immediately listed below) to start browsing the most popular stations. Be sure to select your connection speed and then what kind of music you’re looking for over on the right hand side for optimal listening pleasure. All you need is a player (we recommend Winamp) and you’re set to go!

Thanks for the link Abhi.
